I had a 6th grade female student send an inappropriate picture to a 6th grade male student that she thought she was "dating." The male student then proceeded to forward the picture to all of his buddies and before school even started on the next day most of the students in the 6th grade had seen the photo. Unfortunately, the female student was not only upset that everyone had seen the photo but also because she believed that she and the male student were "together." Sadly we can't take that picture back. Even deleting it doesn't change the fact that everyone already saw it. If we could help these students understand the importance of not only technology use but also self respect.
