I have hesitated to use a class Facebook page or an "open" forum for my classes. Several teachers I work with have done this and unfortunately the pages have been "high jacked" by parents, trying to patrol the classroom or use it as a format to be critical of parents, children, behaviors, instruction, etc. I am learning ways to use the pages and monitor or approve posts before they are "out there" for the world to see. I just need to become more educated on how to monitor these formats.
