Inappropriate Use

Judy Griffin
Most of the inappropriate use that I've seen is use of copyrighted material/photos by students (Plagiarism - copy and paste!) without any or proper citations. Or use of copyrighted material by teachers - scanning books or entire journal articles on the copy machine. Another big one is use of copyrighted music in school/student slideshows - just because you can doesn't mean you should.

We've had a lot of that this year as well.  Especially students trying to take pics of tests and sending to other kids.

You know, when it comes to using the web for research, I have noticed that many students have poor research skills. It's all about click and paste and using other authors words as their own.  I think it's do to lack of thinking skills, confidence and many other reasons. It is mostly due to lack of experience but either way, it is still illegal.
