I have heard horror stories of cyberbullying, and simpler cases where people "sent" before they really thought through what they wanted to say. I don't use social media, but I can imagine that it could take gossip to a whole new level.
With young people, I heard one adult remark that when they did stupid things as a kid, people ususally forgot after a time, but when today's young people do something that they later regret which involves social media, it hangs around forever - like a albatross around the neck.
