Innappropriate Use

Jenna Huston
I have seen or heard of many instances where social media, particularly snapchat and Facebook, have been used inappropriately.
In high school, I can remember a group of boys creating a fake Facebook account for another student in order to make fun of him.  They posted pictures of him, wrote "quotes," etc.

I also knew a couple who shared nude photos with one another, but after breaking up, one posted the other's photos on Facebook.  I and other friends caught this immediately and we did all we could to report the photos and get them taken down quickly.
I've also seen grown adults using Facebook or other social media to bash and attack their own family members, like an online version of Jerry Springer.

When adults and parents use social media inappropriately, it makes it that much more difficult to set the appropriate example for children and students.

Good point, Jenna. We adults have to set the example.

Wow. Those are quite the examples. It's amazing what people do.
