Internet Safety

Dan Spooner
I use Facebook & Twitter .  I agree with the people on the news that how can you have 1000 friends that you know really well.  I have all the privacy settings set so that only my friends can see my information.  I only allow those to be friends with me if I really know them well.  Also the 2 questions that the news caster said are a real reminder to what should we post on our sites.  I think about what I'm going to post a number of times before I post it.  If it doesn't seem right I don't post it.  Just think before you post would.
I also remind my friends what they post about me or pictures of me and how it could affect me as an educator, not that I appear in a ton of bad photos.

Great point about telling friends what they post will affect you directly. Even if they think it is funny, it may not be.

I also make sure to ask family and friends to remember I am an educator and to make sure photos with me in them are appropriate for all to see. Like Dan, not that there are that many photos questionable, but just don't want to have a photo posted that was not in my control as I am thinking what others might assume just by the picture.
