Internet Safety

Don Struve
I do not use Facebook, but my wife and children do---as well as many of my students.  I can see how it would be so easy to miss a step in checking your Facebook settings.  I have talked to students who think it's important to have as many "friends" as they can, and they don't even know some of the people on their list.  To me, that can be a scary potential problem!  I urge them not to go for quantity, but quality.  They need to know who they are friending!

Good advice.  Quality not quantity.  It is scary how kids will friend someone they've never met on Facebook yet would never think of just going up to a complete stranger and starting a conversation.
