Internet Safety

Matt Johnston
I went to Facebook to double check my privacy settings. Most of the things were set the way I want them to be (only friends can see my info.), but I did have a couple of surprises. There was one section in the privacy setting about who could look me up using the phone number I provided for the account. I wasn't even aware it was set to "everyone" rather than "friends", so I made that change. There was also a section about outside search engines being able to link to my profile. That just didn't sound like something I wanted any part of, since it takes my data and preferences out of my hands and puts it in the hands of others (advertisers, etc.), so I changed that to "no". It just goes to show that even though someone may think they have things set up the way they want to protect their privacy, they may not have "checked all the boxes" to make that happen. Please review your settings, everyone.
