Introduction

Thomas Briscoe
What was new learning for you?
This is my first art course. I was really impressed with the "Elements of Art". I have never really considered art as having so many different "elements". I can see how it must take to to observe art critically, given that their are so many different things that must be observed, e.g., space, form, color etc.

What was a review?
I remember learning about primary and secondary colors in elementary school. However, I don't think I would be able to tell you how to make secondary colors.

How can you apply these concepts to a content area you currently teach?
I teach special education. I think the biggest application to what I just learned would be to encourage my students to look at things more critically, to examine what they are looking at more deeply, to try and bring out the elements that they might otherwise he missing.
