Norms / Digital Rights

Brian Blodgett
This post was updated on .
I do IT support for a living and I have found / seen many people abused by 'bad guys'.  Usually the bad guy tricks people into giving up their passwords and/or remote access info and the bad guy then takes over.  Most of the time they mess up their computer and then ask for money.

I think everyone should have the right to privacy.  I understand that usually the cost of FREE services is our info / data.  I would like to see people educated that when they signup for free they are usually giving up something, making sure there is a clear common language for this would be helpful.

I agree that not everyone realizes that with the click of a button on a story or a link, a person has just given access to personal information, but I wonder how we can be connected and at the same time, protect ourselves and our information.
