I agree with the previous posts that suggest that giving students access to technology as well as equipping them to use technology appropriately is a must. Given our society, many people use technology as a means to express their thoughts and opinions, their voice. One concern I have for younger students in particular is the disconnect that sometimes occurs between typing words on a page and sharing with a global audience, as opposed to having a conversation face to face with someone. Along with the norms, I feel it would be equally important to teach students to type as if they were speaking to someone directly, and looking in their eyes.
