It is our responsibility to teach appropriate norms and behaviors of digital citizenship. Citizenship responsibilities are ignored and the rights are abused by many. With ongoing and proactive education on the topic hopefully we can cultivate and model appropriate norms for the next generation. Education is key, but as I parent I hope that my own kids are grounded in commonsense, and the values they have been taught at home will transfer to the digital world that they are very much a part of.
