Norms and responsibilities

Dane Moulton
I think the most important norm that should be followed by everyone online is the golden rule: treat others how you want to be treated. It might sound obvious, but I think the anonymity that people have in the internet has led to many people saying/posting things that they wouldn't do in person (because they know it's wrong) but they feel comfortable saying from behind a screen name. As educators I think the biggest responsibility we have to students is to teach them how important this is, and how what they do online isn't anonymous and can affect their school, work and home life.
