Users need to understand that they are leaving a permanent impression of themselves when they communicate in the digital world. Individuals using forums to criticize, bash, and discredit others by “hiding behind a computer screen," rather then confronting people in person. Foul, unnecessary language can all be viewed by community members and potential employers. Helping students understand the choices they make have consequences and it's responsibility to be a good a good citizen for their own benefit.
