Norms and responsiblities

Mindy Skillen
I agree that students lead by example.  If students poor language, pictures, etc. being posted on the internet, they will think that is the norm and accepted.  We as adults need to teach the norms and responsibilities continuously as there is always a new user.  Students are at a very vulnerable age and don't have the mature minds to know between right and wrong, or can't see beyond the present or think what consequences might be..

I agree that what they see just becomes the norm.  If they see everyone else doing it, they think it is just what you do.  It is important that we teach kids at a young age the appropriate way to use online tools and forums.

I agree.  The people have the opportunity to make choices and follow the lead of others.  In addition to students being leaders, I hold teachers and adults in general accountable for practicing the Internet rules too!
