On Task Behavior and Making the Right Choices

Sheree Spraglin
As a 4th grade teacher whose students use personal devices daily, I have to teach what is expected for Digital Use.  My students are aware that they must stay on task while on their devices. For example, if they are supposed to be playing a math game, they cannot visit a new page, play a different game, look up a video, or send a message.  These are all off-task behaviors that result in a negative consequence.

Students are also taught to take responsibility for making the right choices online.  They must stay on topic, think before they entire a broad search, and follow our school procedures if they encounter any inappropriate imagery or language.
