Prezi

Carolyn Russell
Hi,

I use Prezi for a "Heritage Project".  Students love making their slides, adding sound and videos to their presentations.  They have fun and so do I evaluating them on rubric criteria.

Although I have not used Prezi, I recently was asked to judge a civic oration contest in which students discussed hunger in America. One thing I noticed was they often made a point but then did not support it or connect it in any way. It looks like the Prezi format would assist students in building a presentation that helped them connect the dots or details of each major point. For example, if they listed elderly as a subtopic, they would need additional support points under that topic, etc.

I think Prezi would be a good tool to help students organize information for reports.  For example, students could work together to create presentations about Native American groups, Explorers, Colonies, States, etc...

Prezi is a great tool to help student's that may not be engaged in a area of education through a interest topic and using slides that will incorporate technology, education and personal learning.
