Responsibilities

As a Special Education teacher and parent, I feel it is my responsibility to educate my students and children of the consequences of actions while they are on the web.  I have provided my students and my children with access to those sites and tools only acceptable by me.  In my classroom and in my home I do not allow the children to be online without my knowledge and without intent.  When we have been on the web researching or watching videos, I have reminded them of the unlimited amount of sources and that we have to be careful and considerate of what we read, see, or watch.  My students and children are not allowed to be online with a private user name/access to any sites or apps.  Although they are often angry with me and I give my explanations, I feel that I have to be that safety net until they fully understand one slip of a button can impact many things for them.
