The scientist explain the phenomenon with a lot more depth response and they use more scientific reasoning. Where as the students give more real life examples and explanations. In the video drag races the scientists are much more knowledgable about their explanations. There is further exploration and explanation about what is happening. When thinking of my own classroom it is important to remember that students knowledge is base on previous experiences. How they understand the phenomena to be is based on what they have learned previously. Self-exploration is so important and the kids in the drag races video were all having great conversations but I did like learning some of the harder terms from the scientists. I think it is just important to give our students a good understanding but to also allow them to discover what is happening. The teacher in this video did a good job having the students describe what was happening with more depth.
