Scientist vs Classroom Case

Teacher 3

The scientist explained the phenomena by sharing their thinking.  They worked through the problems and were flexible in their thinking. I also noticed that the scientist were willing to change the way their were thinking about the phenomena when given the tools they needed to experiment. In the classroom cases students needed the teacher to guide and direct the discussion about the phenomena. Students were not as flexible in their thinking. The students also depended on the teacher to help them build the background knowledge. Students were also less willing to sharing their thinking thoughout the process.

It will be important to create a classroom enviroment were students are able to talk with each other and share thier ideas and thinking. Allowing students to change their thinking as they listen to others will also be important.
