Share Resource - Creativity

Chris Cartee
I really like the resource Powtoon.  It uses animation as a way to communicate and learn.  A group traveled to Tanzania and learned several customs from a local tribe.  The visitors then made an animated film of their experiences and showed the tribe.  Despite a severe language barrier the people in the tribe thoroughly enjoyed watching the animation...they were laughing and smiling at what they were watching on a laptop.

I have used Pow Toon and also google slide show to make books for my cognitive level elementary students.  These tools gave them the opportunity to experience independent reading through switch activation to choose what they wanted to read or in the google slide show case to even advance the pages.  Both of these resources took some time to figure out in order to make it work this way but it was well worth the time to give these students with physical impairments a way to read independently.  Very cool!

I agree,  this Powtoon has great animation!  Another great way to communicate and make learning fun.
