Twitter is a great source for quick, fast, up to the minute information and news.  I work with 6-8th grades Life Skills students and part of that program is up to the minute current events and happenings not just locally but state, country and world wide.  I am also a parent of a Harlan student and I like getting information as far as activities related information at our school.  Times, updates, cancellations, weather dismissals, postponements, etc.

I agree 100%; Twitter is a fantastic way to get very current information into the hands of students. I use it with my marketing students as a way of showing how marketers use trends to advertise brands and/or products. As I'm sure you do already, I have also found it very important to remind students to check where the information is coming from before using it as evidence in their research/arguments.
