Storybird Studio

Elizabeth Handy
I am always looking for ways to involve students at a young age in the writing and reading process. It looks like this app would be perfect to help students get excited about writing and reading by making their own stories and reading stories already provided on this app. I am excited to check this out more to see if it is something I think 1st graders could do with my help.

I am looking forward to using Storybird with some elementary age students.  I am going to be tutoring a first grade student and I think this will be a good resource for him.

Storybird would be great to have a group of older kids learn the system and become "Experts" with the program. You could then have those students buddy up with younger kids and have them work together to make short story about a make believe adventure involving their buddies. They could then create it with their buddies help picking out pictures etc...

I am not completely familiar with this site, but I think it would be great to use in the lower elementary grades!

My daughter used Story Bird at school and was excited to come home and write stories on her own time!

Great idea! I especially like the part about having older kids teach the younger; anytime you can do that, it always turns out positive!
