Users Rights and Responsibilities

Eric Rodgers
The rights and responsibilities of a person in the digital world should be exactly the same as anywhere else.  People tend to be more aggressive and improper online because they feel they have a buffer to the the real world.  I've found a lot of kids see the internet as another world where they can be completely different, in some cases that is good, it gives them an opportunity to be who they really are without anyone judging "them" personally (it's just an online persona, it's not really me).  Unfortunately too many people think that if they post as someone else, no holds are barred.  They aren't really hurting anyone because hey, it's the internet, it's not real.
