Using Gmail in my classroom by Tim O'Hagan

Tim O'Hagan
In my elementary physical education classes I host a lot of events especially for my 3rd & 4th graders. I like to send out reminders to families. I also need chaperones for some of the events. I would like to set up contact lists for each classroom so when it's that classes day to go to the YMCA or ice arena I can send a heads up with just the click of the contact group and remind them of the event, especially after a weekend. I also like it as well for the bike rides, rock wall climbing & archery when I need adult help & I can keep a threaded email list (that I can add contacts) and everyone can stay posted with each other's questions.

For the high school health classes I like the idea of using contact groups so I can send reminders out to the different classes for exams, meetings, projects, etc. I also have some sensitive matter I discuss about  relationships, drugs, alcohol, bullying, mental illness, etc and this could be used for me to collect anonymous questions from students and then I can distribute these out from just me only so others will be more inclined to share, inquire & be aware of the upcoming content of the lesson.
