Using Gmail in the Classroom

Matt Bird
I have been a user of Gmail for awhile but it amazes me how little I utilize some of the features.  Labels is the one that stands out the most as a quick and easy way to keep emails organized.  I often find my self sorting through countless emails searching for the one I need to revisit.  Organization is an important part of communicating whether it be with students, parents, other teachers, administrators, or other related activities with coaching or officiating.  Developing better habits using Gmail will allow me to be more organized and communicate more effectively.  I look forward to learning about more features such as "hangouts."

I agree with  you about under-utilizing the Gmail features.  I have to use Gmail in my position as a secretary, and thought I was using fairly well, but just getting started in this course has made me realize that I can do so much more!  I was introduced to Google Hangouts about a month ago and used it a bit for the project I was on but then forgot about it.  I am going to try to use it more often to see if it is easier to communicate with other offices.
