Using Gmail in the classroom

Joan Becker
I teach speech and debate in a competitive home school club that meets one afternoon a week.  After this lesson, I will be able to more effectively use my time by organizing my communications to parents and students.  Previously when sending emails, I had clicked on each person's contact address individually;  now I will cluster students and parents by labels designating the specific speech or debate category in which they belong.  Furthermore, I am interested in experimenting with Hangout (as Chat has been disabled).  During inclement winter weather, Hangout may enable us to still conduct class through its video and voice components.
