Using Google E-Mail within the classroom

Sarah Gilchrist
Utilizing G Mail in the classroom adds another dimension to the educational experience of the students.  It also adds to the interaction between the student, the parent, and the teacher.  I have found that sometimes parents are reluctant to voice concerns about how their child is doing in person.  Utilizing Gmail allows parents to reach out to me when they might not otherwise feel comfortable.  Besides saving paper and printing costs, Gmail allows for attaching documents such as calendars, additional resources, or even videos.  Gmail, when combined with other Google applications, can allow quicker feedback on projects for students so they are able to make adjustments and improvements.
