Voki

Many assignments can be enhanced using this site. Students create an avatar and then program it to speak. I have used it in an assignment where the 6th grade students find an interesting news article on TweenTribune from which they have to write a script for a news reporter. They create the reporter using the Voki avatar and program it to deliver the news. Kids love it!

This sounds like a great idea!  I have heard of Voki before but have not used it in awhile.  I think it is good idea to change up the way students demonstrate their understanding of concepts. Perhaps a historical figure could shed some light on a historical event or the avatar might be able to explain a math concept.  Students enjoy being creative and love the opportunity to voice their thoughts rather than write them.
