Ways to use Gmail with students

Kim Van Sickle
There are some features that I already use as a school counselor. I use tasks to organize and track my student groups my  daily work related tasks and Google calendar to keep all appointments, meetings and lessons straight. This class has helped me organize my email with labels and contact group SO much more efficiently. This, of course, will benefit students because I am sent tons of resources that I want to implement later or correspondence in regard to students that I can now file instead of searching  through my inbox. I have never emailed students before even though our 4th-6th graders use Google Classroom and have email. I am excited to design an online self-referral form that I can email out to all intermediate grade students so they can initiate a need to see the counselor online. I do this effectively with a locked mailbox outside my office however, the older students would like a more private way to reach out. I now feel more confident to implement this and organize this process.
