Zoom

Hmauer
Zoom was a little intimidating at first. However, due to the quarantine, I have used this technology weekly to communicate with colleagues and students! I am still learning how to be a host rather than just a joiner.   Being on camera is getting easier and easier the more I practice. This is a must for online learning going forward. Here is a link for beginners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMUxzrgZvZQ

I loved being able to "see" my students via Zoom during the school closure. My students were always eager for our Zoom time! We also used it for staff meetings and grade level meetings weekly. A simple, easy way to get together when we have to stay apart!

I too have used this tool for the first time in the last couple of months. It has been used by my colleague to deliver instruction and answer student questions. You could also use it by allowing students in different physical classrooms to collaborate and problem solve.

Zoom has come out with a lot of features that allow teachers use more collaboration in the virtual classroom. I love the breakout rooms. They create more work for me but allows for small group interactions.
