I warn my kids over and over again "Once it's in print and you hit send, there's no taking it back!" My other famous phrase is "life's all about choices, make good ones." I think students need to truly understand the consequences for making poor digital citizenship choices. It can affect everything from high school scholarships, to college recruiting, to getting a job or into the armed forces.
