wife's facebook

i'm not on any social media myself so i looked at my wife's account.  she has her privacy set on public because we do sell some produce and people use that to contact and ask questions.  i am concerned about the ability to track in real time on several different social platforms.  I am going to check on my granddaughters to see if they know that.  I did notice on facebook that there is the ability to keep much of your personal data secure, but i think it would be better to just not add the info to your profile to begin with.
