Zengo does not use traditional, vulnerable seed phrases. Instead, it relies on advanced MPC (Multi-Party Computation) cryptography. To recover your wallet if you lose your device or reinstall the app, you will use your original email address, your cloud Recovery File, and your 3D FaceLock (biometrics).
To ensure a smooth restoration process, you must make sure your Recovery Kit was properly set up and synchronized.
The Recovery Process
If you are switching devices or reinstalling Zengo, follow these specific steps to regain access to your wallet:
1. Download the App: Install the Zengo application on your new or reset mobile device.
2. Input Original Email: Open the app and log in using the exact same email address you used to create the original wallet.
3. Confirm via Magic Link: Check your email on that same mobile device and tap the "magic link" sent by Zengo to confirm your identity.
4. Cloud Drive Access: The app will automatically connect to the cloud storage account (iCloud for iOS, Google Drive for Android, or Dropbox) associated with that device to locate your secure recovery file. (Note: If you just restored your phone from a cloud backup, give the cloud time to finish downloading all background files, otherwise, Zengo may fail to find your recovery file).
5. Complete Biometric Verification: Perform the 3D FaceLock scan to finalize your account recovery.
