I am signed in the LinkedIn social networking site. I was encouraged to do so by my wife and sons. I did this years ago and I have not done a lot with it since then. It did allow an old friend from college to find me but that was it. I do not see the benefits for someone in the field of education to benefit from this site. Maybe after I retire and go into a different field.
I also am active on Facebook. I manage two pages. One is a high school class page and the other is a historic page to all those attend a private elementary school here in Iowa. Both take little time to up keep, and many people have reconnected after many years. This makes me feel pretty good.
