What was new learning for you?

A new learning piece for me was the positive and negative space and the figure-ground relationship. I know I have seen paintings and drawings with the positive and negative space. It is nice to make that connection of positive and negative.
I also didn't know that there was a specific term for how items were placed in a painting or drawing. The front is the foreground, the middle is the middle ground, and the back is the background.

What was a review?

Something that was a review was the primary colors and the secondary colors.

How can you apply these concepts to a content area you currently teach?

I teach first grade. We draw a lot of pictures. We could talk about what primary colors are and how when we mix two colors together we get secondary colors.
