I love the thought of having students look at art and conversing about it and writing about it. Student can learn from so many different levels. Not only are the students learning how to think critically, write, and read; but the student will learn how to socialize and to critically talk to each other. This can help with student learning how to get along and tolerate different opinions.
I would like to pick an artist’s work and have the student student study it independently for a few moments. Then I would like to put the students into groups to discuss the art. Next we would have a group discussion about the art. The last thing I would like to do would to have the students write their thoughts about the artwork. I think this could be something that can be done a couple times a month.
