Every time I shift my 2012 Ford Explorer from park into reverse or drive, I hear and feel a noticeable thud from underneath the car. Also when I hit a bump or quickly step on and off the gas, there's a similar kind of dull knock. The car drives fine once it's moving but that initial shift clunk has me worried. I've been reading up and it sounds like worn engine mounts might be the culprit. I'm thinking I need proper
engine mount replacement Dubai before the movement starts stressing other components like the exhaust or cooling hoses. Found Dynostar's engine mount page and they mention checking all mounts including the transmission one. Has anyone here had that clunk during gear changes that turned out to be mounts instead of something expensive like the transmission? Really hoping it's the cheaper fix obviously. Also how many mounts does a typical car have anyway? I see some places quote for three or four.
