This is a frustrating area for me. A student created a fake facebook profile for me and sent inappropriate messages to colleagues. Thank goodness they all let me know and it was reported and resolved. You can have the best settings and profile safety measures, however, if somebody wants to be you, it can be done. That is where it's important to have a network of people to let you know and notify you. I have since helped others in this area when similar issues occurred to their accounts.
