The social media site that I use mostly is Facebook. I went in and checked the various settings and I actually didn't realize all the various ways people could find my profile. So I actually changed some of my setting and I think it is very important that people are aware of how easy it can be for someone to get a hold of their information. I think, like one of the videos said, we tend to just assume that the site or whatever it may be, is fully protecting us without us doing our part and making sure those protections are set up.
I know that the schools will use different apps to communicate with parents and I think its important that these apps are carefully monitored not just from outside sources, but also from those who are using it. For example if the school uses an app to share various things, the people who have permission to access that, don't take the information shared and share it with someone who is outside the group.
