DC Internet Safety - Richard Dow

Facebook has many settings  that I believe should be turned off for most people.  I believe private should be the default setting for most things.  I believe that only friends you add should be able to see your profile.  I'm not even sure why public is an option.  The location settings are the most troubling, especially for children.
I'm not sure how that would useful for anybody that wasn't a stalker.  If somebody is truly a friend and you really need to know where they are at, give them a call.  For what reason would anybody ever need to track somebody's location.   Another user posted how Snapchat has the same location settings, and I was unaware of that.  As invasive as these social media platforms are into our privacy, I am amazed at how they have become so popular.
