I use Facebook and Instagram. I try to check my privacy settings every couple of months to make sure I don't miss any changes they may have made. I think it is strange that you have to manually select that only friends can see your email and/or phone number. I feel like if you chose only friends can see posts, all the other settings should default to that as well. For my profile, I created it while I was still in college, so the email I log on with is no longer used, but it let me keep it and I have never entered my phone number...no way I'm sharing that on Facebook! I think students need to know all of this too. I know a lot of students whose pages are all public on Facebook and Instagram. I also never use the location setting on Facebook or Instagram. If you don't know where I am, you don't need too. I wish more young people would avoid using the location setting.
