DC Internet Safety

Paula Scott
My husband has a Facebook page and so I went on it and was surprised to see that most of our setting were public.  I changed them.  I also set up a Twitter account for this class and used the safest settings I could use.  Twitter is also upgrading their security on May 25 in response to new regulations from the European Union that says all tech companies must comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).  This new regulation will give us the right to access and delete data that tech companies like Twitter have collected about us.  So basically you can opt out of the data Twitter collects about you, including ads.  Today when I went into my Pintrest account before I could access any info.  Pintrest required me to update all my info. in response to GDPR.  I'm glad someone is talking a proactive approach to our privacy.
