I checked my Facebook account privacy settings to see what I had things set as. As a retired educator and administrator, I have made the decision that I didn't need to have the account locked down from former students' accessing. I don't typically post things to my site at all so there wouldn't be much if anything that students (or anyone for that matter) shouldn't see. It's all fine.
I'm very careful, however, in accepting friend requests from people that I am not at all familiar with. I typically research their site and see how they would have "found" me in order to make a decision about whether to accept the friendship or not. In most cases, I do NOT accept new friendships unless I know them personally.
