This post provided me the opportunity to glaze over my facebook account privacy settings and I feel like facebook and likely other social media sites make navigating the privacy settings difficult and vague. If I feel like privacy settings are vague, then I can only imagine how "loosely" privacy settings are set for students.
While I only have facebook, I feel like Zuckerburg and the founders of Facebook and other social media sites ought to be proactive in educating young users in the correct and safe use of social media websites. However, I feel this should mostly be a parental obligation and the education of safe use of social media shouldn't be burdened by teachers.
