I do not have a social media presence (I know, hard to believe one can live without Facebook!) for many of the reasons discussed in this section. I went to my Google+ profile, and have to admit, it was hard to even figure out where my privacy settings were, much less what they meant and how to adjust them. I can see where it would be good to remind students to revisit these settings regularly. The biggest and easiest way to stay safe, in my opinion, for me, my students, and my children, is to make sure not to "friend" anyone you don't personally know.
