DC - Internet Safety

Marcy Volkstorf
What social media site did you explore and what settings in that site should users be aware?

I reviewed my account settings & security on Facebook. This was a good reminder as I've used Facebook for many years and forget to check my settings as often as I should.

I think it's important to take note and change your password frequently.

It's also important for Facebook users to set their account to private and control who can see content on your page.

I did come across an "additional security setup" option on Facebook. This option allows you to be notified if someone would log into your account from a different device.

Yes, and there is also a "Learn more with Privacy Basics," option that can be rather informative if it has been a while since you have updated your settings.  It is a platform of digital capriciousness in some ways.

Facebook is kind of scary after looking at all the privacy settings that I did not know about.
