I have a Facebook and Twitter account that I check regularly. Throughout my college years, the instructors would regularly remind us to check the privacy settings so the students cannot get in and check out the page. I had many instances where I had students come up to me last year and informed me that they looked me up on Facebook but couldn't see anything. I let them know that I have it blocked because I only want my friends and family to see what I have on Facebook. That way, I don't have to explain why I won't add them on Facebook or denied their friend request. You have to go to the privacy settings link on your Facebook page to only let your "friends" see your page.
