I have had hackers on my computer due to no fault of my own. I had Chinese characters take over my computer and I called my computer manufacturer and they removed all of the spyware, adware, malware from this evil act. My security firewall happen to be off and that is how they entered. I have also received phone calls that were Phishing! They sounded real urgent and that they had to get on my computer and remove over 300 viruses they told me. When I asked them to identify themselves, they said they were from Microsoft. I questioned and questioned them and did a 3-way call to Dell and they immediately hung up, and of course you cannot trace the phone call. Thus, I make sure my browser, and all computer updates are done automatically daily. In addition, I have an external hard drive to download everything, so I do not lose all information. Our school has to be on the defense as well with so many using the technology there.
