I really like the idea that social networking guru's suggest that you should make an account to keep yourself safe. In this manner, is it harder for someone to steal your identity because I have already made my own account. In this manner in FACEBOOK, your friends and close acquaintances know that you have an account, what your ID picture is, and that you would not be requesting them to accept you as a friend... again!
In exploring my own settings in Facebook, I noticed the other day that strangers (to me) were "liking" and "posting" on some of my posts. I was dumbfounded to say the least. Them my husband explained to me that they are probably friends, of friends, of friends! WOW. This just started, so as I checked into my settings I noticed that a recent update to my Facebook App started that nonsense. I had to go back in to reset my security so that the recent update to Facebook did not have control over my preferences. I believe that is the biggest idea that should be explored by Facebook users. Usually each person knows what their settings are set to, and know what to expect from the app. But, when there are updates made to an app, I believe that would be the biggest privacy invasion to be aware of.
